Serving those in need for 16 years graphic
Lifesavers Foundation is marking its sixteenth year in business during 2021. In January 2005, the Foundation received its 501(c)3 designation from the Internal Revenue Service. Since that time, LSF has been able to:

  • Assist over 13,700 clients through the voucher system at its Upscale Resale Store
  • Donate over $800,000 worth of merchandise to needy single parents and families
  • Provide sonograms and pregnancy tests to over 6,050 clients through the mobile sonogram program
  • Provide over 30,600 meals to hungry families
  • Provide medical services to over 6,425 children

The above statistics demonstrate God’s blessings and guidance over the past 15 years:

Mission Statement: The LifeSavers Foundation (“LSF”) rescues people in need through its free mobile medical mission projects for women and children and the community-at-large with goods from its resale store.

LSF, headquartered in Richardson, Texas, was formed in 2002 by a group of women who were united in their vision to assist underserved women and teens who were facing unplanned pregnancies and who were without resources. LSF initially raised funds via an annual luncheon to purchase hard goods for these women. In late 2004, LSF expanded its scope of clients and source of funds by opening a resale store to fund its program. That store, located at 561 W. Campbell, Suite 101, Richardson, TX 75080, has been operating in the same location for 15 years. LSF provides car seats, portable cribs, diapers, clothing and accessory items to clients of local crisis pregnancy centers and other non-profit affiliations on an ongoing basis through a voucher system. In addition, the store allows LSF to provide clothing and furniture items to individuals who are suffering immediate crises such as losses by fire, destitution, physical and sexual abuse and refugee status through its inventory.

From February 2009 through March 2016, LSF affiliated with a local crisis pregnancy center to operate its program, Community Mobile Sonogram. The program provided free pregnancy testing and sonograms to underserved women and teens, together with counseling, educational materials and referrals. LSF plans to relaunch this program in 2020 as MobileSonograms.com in an affiliation with Pregnancy Resource Center of Rockwall and Mesquite. MobileSonograms.com will concentrate its services in the southeastern quadrant of Dallas County with expansion possibilities to Kaufman County.

LSF’s project, The Doctor Spot (“TDS”) is in its fourth year of operation. TDS, a mobile pediatric clinic, provides free medical services to uninsured, Medicaid and underinsured Dallas County children ages 0-18 years. Services include sick and well checks, immunizations, athletic physicals, hearing, vision, lead and obesity screenings, asthma treatments, lab and x-ray services and prescriptions.

TDS is staffed with a Family Nurse Practitioner, a Medical Assistant and a Driver/Intake person. It parks at Mesquite, Garland and Dallas ISD campuses and at the Inspired Vision Compassion Food Bank in Pleasant Grove on a weekly basis. TDS also appears at health fairs and events throughout the year. Families’ lives have been changed forever because of the Mobile Medical Mission of TDS. Recently, a homeless woman was encountered at a street church in South Dallas. She happened to be sitting in a recliner in labor with her seventh child when LSF personnel arrived. They immediately sent her to a local ER for the birth of the baby—a son. None of her other six children lived with her because of her former drug addiction. However, she really wanted this child and so did the father of the baby. She and the baby passed drug testing in the hospital, and she was able to bring the child to a home for women and children. She brought the baby to TDS in Pleasant Grove for an infant well check, diapers, portable crib, car seat and other clothing and baby items. This is just one of the many stories of hope wherein LSF (through TDS) rescued two lives through its mission of life and health.
